Established in 1883, the Sydney High School Cadet Unit is the oldest organisation within the prestigious high school. It offers an unparalleled development program for youths through challenge them with the fundamental skills and discipline of the Australian army. The unit retains a strong history of fostering the leadership and excellence of these young individuals. SHSCU captures the essences of what it is to be soldier by offering the opportunities to experience the shooting of an F88 Austeyr, as well as providing the youth with an abundance of tactical communication, defence and survival techniques that is to be tested in the fields of Australian wildlife.
