Tanvir began debating at Holsworthy Primary School, and continued during all his years at High. In 2002 he debated in the Metropolitan East Representative team, which went on to win the Junior State Debating Championship. In 2003 he debated in Sydney Boys High School Second Grade, which won the GPS Second Grade premiership. In 2004 he debated in Sydney Boys High's First Grade and the undefeated Second Grade CHS Representative Team.
He is currently doing Combined Arts/Law at the University of Sydney, majoring in English. He recently represented the University of Sydney at Easters (a big uni debating competition that happens at, you guessed it, Easter)
Tanvirs Best Debating Moment: "The speech I gave at round seven of the 2004 GPS competition. We lost the debate, and ultimately the premiership, but I remember that night because I was so happy with my performance and because it was my last debate representing High."
Tanvirs Worst Debating Moment: "All those times when we were robbed by the combination of a dim-witted opposition, a ridiculous definition and a clueless adjudicator."
