Tom was born in the south of France, giving him a Mediterranean look that the girls find irresistible. Although his fortés lie firmly in polo, fencing and chivalry, he also dabbles with the ancient noble art of oratory. While modest in nature, a brief session of research into Tom’s past will reveal that his story is speckled with achievements of the highest variety in this field. Trust me, he’s good.
Tom started debating for high at the age of 11. He was the State winner of the Junior Public Speaking Award in Year 9. In Year 10, he represented Met East (finalists) in the Junior State Debating Championships and was part of the SBHS State finalists team. In Year 11 he was part of the Hume Barbour winning team and in Year 12 he was a State Finalist in the SMH Plain English Speaking Award. He was also part of the formidable First Grade team of 2005. He was selected for CHS representation in both Year 11 and 12.
Tom is now studying Advanced Arts at the University of Sydney. He was a finalist at his first inter-varsity tournament, Easters 2006. This year Tom aims to claim the prestigious “Coach with the Best Hair Award”.
