Cricket is the most prestigious GPS Summer Sport. Sydney Boys High School competes against the other seven GPS schools on Saturdays during Term 4 and 1. High has won the GPS cricket premiership on seven occasions:
1933, 1934, 1938, 1968, 1979, 1982 and 1994.

 

Training


Juniors

Junior Cricket Students train weekly in school on Thursday Afternoons from 1-3pm. Training takes place at the School Cricket Nets, SCG Indoor Centre or Moore Park West. Each Junior Cricket team also trains weekly after school on Monday Afternoons from 3.30-5pm at either the School Cricket Nets or Moore Park West.

Seniors

Senior Cricket Students train weekly on Wednesday Afternoons from 1-3pm. Training takes place at the School Cricket Nets, McKay Oval or Moore Park West. The 1st and 2nd XI in addition practices a further two times a week in either morning or afternoon sessions.

 

Tours

Australian 5 Highs Carnival

The Sydney Boys High 1st XI competes in the Australian 5 High Cricket Carnival with Melbourne, Brisbane State, Adelaide and Kent Street Senior (Perth) High Schools. The carnival occurs annually in December.

Louis Barberis Cup

Each year, twelve Year 9 students are selected to compete in the Louis Barberis Cup against Melbourne High School.

East Coast Cup

The 14A’s and 15A’s compete with the Brisbane State High School annually in the East Coast Cup.

 

High Cricket Family

For Sydney High Cricket to function to its best ability we require the support of parents. Parents are encouraged to assist with Parking and Scoring during the season as well as the Annual High Cricket Season Launch and Dinner.
